For an exercise book, after folding the papers, given that it is much smaller, trainees were asked to unfold each stack of sheets and turn to the middle and position a stapling machine to about 5cm from the edge of the page and staple through the pages. In the case of a counter book, trainees were asked to fasten a thread through a needle and sew the pages to be in position to bind the book. Trainees followed this instruct had had both the exercise and counter book bound together.
There is no doubt that skills in school chalk production were identified as very lucrative in the community because with a quick scan through the community, trainees agreed that almost every Sub-County had either a primary school, nursery, pre-school, secondary, tertiary and other training areas both private and public that required chalk as a material to aid learning and therefore this would be a very profitable skill to venture in. This would directly aid the program of ensuring that education is provided to the community by availing the necessary training materials in learning centres."
